Facebook developed a learning management system
Facebook, or at least a group of its software engineers, have been working with Summit Public Schools to develop a learning management system. While it would appear they are following suit with their silicon valley partners Google and Microsoft; However, this system might be slightly different. What appears to differentiate this LMS from Google Classroom or Microsoft Classroom 365 is it includes a comprehensive curriculum. Classroom and classroom 365 are systems that enable teachers to put their current curriculum in; this platform replaces it entirely. The curriculum was developed by educators and is based on the Common Core State Standards. The system is built around the premise of personalized learning as students work at their own pace and take assessments on demand. The Summit system is free to use for teachers and schools.
